How Does CrownFest Work?
Events during the festival have their own bookable tickets, allowing flexibility for those attending on all, some or different days. Some events are free and don't need booking, others are paid for activities or meals at set times. Some events are ongoing, others are only on specific days. We've also suggested some self-guided trip days, where attendees may wish to explore further with fellow Crown followers, visiting sites featured in the games, and you never know who you might find at some the destinations.
This schedule will be updated as new events are added.

Location Tours - Recommended 'Self-Guided' trips
A recommended day of excursions beyond Polperro itself, to visit nearby locations featuring in The Crown Games. These locations are easily accessible on public and private transport and maybe best tackled in groups. These suggested trips may also suit people during previous days, who are looking to explore crown locations at their own pace.
Using public transport or you own, take a trip to Duloe and Looe. Both can be reached by Car, Bus, and Taxi. Alternatively you could take a small tour boat from Polperro to Looe and back, passing Talland Bay and Looe Island.

Looe Lunch - Independent Booking Ahead Essential
A short hop along the coast, by car, taxi, bus or boat, our HQ of Looe can be found, where many further crown locations can be found and a great destination for lunch options.
Looe also has plenty of food options, but if you’re looking for Sunday Lunch in one of the towns oldest and haunted sites, try The Smugglers Cott in East Looe or The Jolly Sailor in West Looe.

Looe Walk - Self-Guided
Exploring Looe you'll find many crown locations, from Gruels Antiques to the Martello Tower. The Pinnacle Rocks and the Fenland eye can all be found in Looe itself and the seafront. A downloadable route guide will be available to help you find your way around familiar places featuring in the games.
A visit to the lower floor of Looe Museum will provide you with a familiar location, as this doubled as the inside of Gruels Antique shop.

|
|
|
| |
 |
|
Duloe Walk - Self-Guided
Explore around Duloe, Duloe's church and the stone circle. Better known to Crown gamers as Northfield, Nigel has explored the church in both day and night. The original graveyard opening view of the tower is now obscured by a surprisingly fast growing Oak tree, but the familiar sites of Duloe's St Cuby church are easy to find. Across the road, the stone circle of Duloe can be found, as featured in and inspiring the Barrow Hill games. The Plough at Duloe doubled for the interior of Saxton's pub, The Bear.
For those with transport, north of Duloe you can also find Raven Lane, in reality Stocks Lane, leading through the trees, although you wont be able to find the Saxon Kingdom beneath the trees, at least we don't think so.
If your continuing by foot to Causeland train station to travel back to Looe, you'll recognise on that route several more crown game sites. |

Coastal Walk - Recomended Self-Guided & Guided trip
It's bank holiday Monday - Lets hope the sky is SOO BLUE! Even if its not, there's no better time to explore the Coast Path from Saxton. Mr Tibbs did, all the way to Ulcombe Church and you can too!
In reality, grab a pack up lunch from town, take the Coast Path East from Polperro, passing familiar crown locations, following along the coast, passing the Little Lighthouse on the clifftops, and continue onward towards Talland Bay. This is a semi rugged costal path walk!
You'll pass the clifftop War memorial, before descending into the bay, where cafes await. On the hilltop above Talland bay you have Talland Church - Known in the Crown Games as Ulcombe!
More route details and map will be available to download. You could also Taxi or Drive to Talland Bay if the coast path isn't suitable.
